We started Farm week off by learning about pigs. We learned that we get bacon, sausage and pork from pigs. We also learned that pigs have a hard time sweating, so they like to cool off by rolling in the mud. So, of course, we had to roll our piggies in the mud too! Chocolate pudding mud, that is! Yum!
Then we learned about sheep. Sheep give us veal to eat, and wool that we use to make sweaters, blankets and jackets. We had fun pretending we were farmers shearing our sheep.
Balloons, shaving cream and popsicle sticks- great fun!
Cows give us all kinds of yummy things! Hamburgers, steak, and milk. We use the milk and cream to make things like cheese and yogurt.
We learned that milking a cow is hard work and very time consuming!
But the best thing about cows is making ice cream from their milk and cream!
